OK dinguses, here’s something that’s gonna make your life and the lives of everyone who sees you at the con so much better.

This is called a Men’s Dance Belt.

It’s for male ballet dancers to wear under their tights. Its purpose?

TO MAKE SURE NOBODY SEES THEIR BULGE.

when I’m at a con, nothing kills a potential good superhero costume more than seeing the cosplayer’s friendly neighborhood spider-cock through the costume.

.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS. I SEE TO MANY PEOPLE WHO DON’T AND I’M JUST LIKE “YO COME ON…”

Looking at you, Deadpool cosplayers

ok listen to me there are so many parallels between Hiro Hamada and Tony Stark listen

-real smart real young going to a prestigious tech college

-Even their ages were close, Hiro started at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology at 14 and Tony went to MIT at 15

-Parents? lol dead

-Family member who was their anchor? lol dead (Tadashi, Maria)

-Used knowledge of science & engineering to create a really awesome suit and become a superhero because who needs powers when you have science

-betrayed by someone they trusted who turned out to be the villain (Prof. Callaghan, Obadiah Stane)

-Has/has shown signs of mental illness (tony’s anxiety and ptsd, hiro’s signs of depression after tadashi died)

headcannon that if BH6 and the MCU existed in the same universe that Hiro was inspired by Iron Man and Tony Stark is one of his heroes

no could you imagine if Tony Stark went to visit SF Tech and somehow got to meet Hiro? Like, maybe he went to give a lecture and then he was given a tour of the campus. He passes by the Nerd Lab and he sees this Tiny Child in there who couldn’t have been older than Tony was when he enrolled at MIT so of course he’s like “I wanna look at what they’re doing in that lab”.

So Hiro Hamada sees Tony Stark walk in the door and literally almost passes out on the spot. He just drops what he’s doing and stares, mouth not forming words because oh my god tony stark is in our lab. He is wide eyed and completely star struck. Tony asks his name and Hiro’s like “me? my name?” and he asks Hiro’s age and probably makes a joke about how Hiro beat him by a year and Hiro almost passes out for a second time. Then Tony asks what he’s working on, and Hiro just starts rambling like “oh this isn’t much because most of my work is in my private lab but today I’m here in the group lab because sometimes a change of scenery is nice and-” but eventually he gets to showing Tony what he’s working on- improving his nanotech.

And Tony is floored by this kid. See, in my head, this is somewhere in between AoU and Civil War, so Tony didn’t do the whole nanotech thing yet, which means this 14 year old kid has developed cutting edge tech that Tony Stark hasn’t even done yet.

“Your parents must be proud of you, kid,” he says. Hiro tenses ever so slightly. “I- I don’t have parents.” Tony sniffs in, puts his hands in his pockets. “They’re not all they’re cracked up to be. Not always, anyway.”

Tony is starting to see a little of himself in this kid.

I don’t think we appreciate how fucking Amazing Tony Stark is at multitasking and how Heightened his sense of awareness/ perception must be though I mean. I mean

Let’s just take a look at everything going on in these Two (2) screencaps alone. How much data do you think he’s processing at any one time whilst in that suit (+ JARVIS AND the rest of the avengers on audio). He reads, evaluates and acts on the info, all in the space of a second before moving on to the next task. JARVIS might give him the information, but it’s tony stark’s brain that processes all that data vomit. On the field, the amount of information he must process in a mere minute must be astounding.

And I mean, not only can tony pilot this shit all on his lonesome, but he can do it with nothing more than a pair of glasses.

Whilst taking a drink:

Whilst Driving a Whole Other Vehicle

Too basic for you? I mean, I guess all he was doing was some basic flight in those, right? Well what about saving thirteen people from a falling airplane and safely guiding them all down to earth again- whilst in a cabin on a boat

Could you imagine trying to do that? I can’t keep a conversation and do 1 task at once. I think we often forget quite how ….brilliant tony’s brain is. Like. The speed at which he would have to process information and act on it is fucking insane. No wonder no one else can effectively create an iron man suit, they just physically couldn’t keep up with it. Tony is one harcore genius motherfucker This Has Been A PSA

i wanna add to this the time when tony was doing pull ups and reading data about mandarin attacks after around 80 hours of no sleep

and keeping a conversation with pepper while steering his suit to give her a gentle as fuck backrub

and before that, look at the fingers:

tony stark brought the art of multitasking to a whole new level

How to put “wrote fan-fiction” on your résumé:

fivewrites:

fivewrites:

xeno-lalia:

resumespeak:

Leveraged an inventory of established fictional character and setting elements to generate a disruptive custom-curated narrative entertainment asset.

I worked in HR, handling applications and interviews, and if someone turned in that string of techno babble nonsense, I would have rejected them out of hand.

A resume doesn’t need to sound fancy or overly technical, it needs to tell us why we should hire you.

“Independent novelist/writer” is more than sufficient here. If you want to express the skills that fan fiction taught you, something like, “creative writing, editing, and publication,” will get you a lot further than… Whatever that just was.

A resume should be tailored to the position, if you can afford the time and energy for that. But if not, then just think about what writing got fandom taught you. How to respond to criticism, how to present a professional pubic face, how to correct punished mistakes, creative thinking, project planning, persuasion via emotional leverage, html formatting, office suite fluency.

There are a lot of actual, marketable skills that go into fan fiction.

we need to stop idolizing tom holland immediately. yesterday, actually.

it’s really cool that he’s this seemingly progressive sweet young dude but i saw a whole post about how he’s “the perfect example of non-toxic masculinity uwu” and another post gave him credit for trans-coding peter parker like “coding” stuff in homecoming wasn’t basic “ha ha misgendering is funny” stuff or misogyny and also stuff that’s in the script which he did not write and should not get credit for.

like………. he’s great. watch his interviews, enjoy his performances.

but also he’s like 21??? im 21 and im incredibly stupid all the time. tom’s also gonna be incredibly stupid because like……. people in their early 20s….. are stupid…. and say stupid shit…. and if you hold them to an impossibly high standard…. they will fail you…. no matter how good their intentions are….

just. cut it out early before this turns into another idolization-to-hatred cycle.

In summary: please be fucking normal

hesallin:

When Tony was young, all bustling bright and full of wit, he dreamed of being an astronaut.

Jarvis bought him stars, the kind that glow in the dark, and he pressed them into corners and floorboards till the room was a dull green and Daddy got mad.

And they threw shadows on the bed, ones that tasted like moonbeam and daybreak, and he’d close his eyes in the quiet of the night and everything was soft.

And then Tony got big, and the stars were unstuck, but if he kept them in a box underneath his bed, then no one was the wiser.

Because sometimes when he’d close his eyes, he saw the stretch of the sky, the dizzy tug of gravity, felt an itch to grab hold of the stars that burned like curiosity.

Because his Daddy knew hands that sent wishes to space and called it Explorer. Sojourner kissed craters and Apollo missed mountains and Tony felt a fizzy kind of desperate to hold wonder in both hands and call it discovery.

And then he did. Up in the air, miles of starlight that clawed at his tongue and filled up his cheeks. Before the icing problem, before the fall, just lungs full of wonder and a heady kind of yearning.

For higher. For more. To kiss craters and dust and the ink of the night.

Tony Stark spent youth desperate for space. He dreamed of wide, and quiet, and every star he ever wished on never sent him here, fists full of nuke and sighing through space.

He tripped through the wormhole, desperate for purchase, and he reached for the skies, desperate to be righted, handfuls of stars that slipped through his fingers and settled to ash.

He saw the skies, and he held them, right until he fell through them. Panicked the whole way down, a whisper of a hum that might have been a prayer, begging not to fall, to thump to the concrete or never even make it there, disappear into the cosmos with a flash of smoke.

Tony Stark used to dream about the way the sky would sound as it hurtled past him. The quiet of night as it settled through the air and landed at his feet. He used to wonder about the way the stars knew chaos like they’d seen it before.

He used to dream about way it would feel to touch the sky.

Until he found out.

how the FUCK did they make that penguin from wallace and gromit look so evil like it’s literally just a plasticine penguin but it somehow radiates Pure Malice look at it

truly character design at its finest

Part of the reason that Wallace and Gromit is so successful is that every single character is just so expressive. The people’s lips move like half a foot every frame. Gromit has basically only his eyebrows, and he has more personality than two average real people. The Moon Machine was up there with the rest of them, and it didn’t even have a face.

The penguin, on the other hand, never expressed anything at all. It’s designed almost explicitly with purpose of not expressing anything. It’s practically featureless, with only the bare minimum of detail necessary to tell you it’s a penguin. It has a face, but it never uses it. It has no sclera, meaning it stares straight ahead at all times. It actively repels most attempts to ascribe any emotion to it – at best, you can feel that it is coldly satisfied, perhaps detachedly frustrated. I’d say it’s like a robot wearing the skin of an animal, but that’s literally the villain of A Close Shave, and he was pretty expressive.

It’s like Aardman found a tiny crack in the likability curve, far away from the uncanny valley but a hell of a lot deeper, and decided to build a penguin there.

when my friend found out her boyfriend of three years was cheating on her she went through his phone, took pictures of every interaction he had with another girl, printed them out, wrote down where she had been at every instance and what lies he had told her about where he would be, and put them in a folder. when she confronted him and he denied everything she pulled out this big ass folder and just said “lets review” and Honestly, that is the most iconic thing anyone has ever done.
